Privacy policy

TEMPLATE. Attorney review required before relying on this policy. Prepared as a starting point for Roofing Quote Tool's counsel. Last updated November 4, 2026.

What we collect

When you use the estimator, we collect what you enter: ZIP code, home size, stories, roof pitch, materials, and optional storm and insurance answers. If you request an inspection or an emailed estimate, we also collect your name, phone, email, address, preferred inspection time, and notes. We also record technical data with each request: IP address, browser user agent, page URL, time, and whether you checked the contact-consent box, along with the exact consent wording shown.

How we use it

We use your information to calculate your estimate, to send your request to the one local roofing contractor that serves your ZIP code, to send you a confirmation email, and to prevent fraud and spam. We don't sell your information. We don't share it with lead buyers, and we don't send it to more than one contractor.

Who we share it with

We share it with the local roofing contractor serving your area (named in your confirmation email). We also use service providers that operate this site on our behalf: Cloudflare for hosting, storage, and bot protection, and Resend for email delivery.

Calls and texts

We or the contractor will call or text you only if you checked the consent box. Consent isn't required to get an estimate or an inspection. Reply STOP to any text to opt out, or email the address below.

Cookies, local storage, and site measurement

This site doesn't currently use advertising or analytics cookies. To make the site work and to understand how it's used, we keep a small amount of information in your browser's local storage: your in-progress estimator answers (so you can pick up where you left off, for up to 30 days), and the link or ad campaign that brought you here (see below, kept for up to 90 days). You can clear this at any time by clearing your browser's site data, or by choosing "Start over" in the estimator. We also record anonymous, first-party usage events, such as a page view, starting the estimator, or completing a step. These events don't include your name, phone, email, or address, and we don't store your IP address with them. We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and doesn't track you across sites. Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile) may process limited technical data.

Advertising and conversion tracking (draft, pending attorney review)

[DRAFT – PENDING ATTORNEY REVIEW. Not yet in effect for advertising pixels. No advertising pixel is installed on this site today.]

Campaign information we keep now. When you arrive from an ad or a tracked link, the web address can include campaign codes (for example, utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term) and click identifiers added by ad platforms (such as Meta's "fbclid" or Google's "gclid"). We save these codes and the first page you landed on with your estimate or inspection request and with our anonymous usage events. We use them to learn which ads and pages help homeowners, and to measure our own advertising. We don't sell this information.

Advertising pixels we may use in the future. We may use measurement tools from advertising platforms, such as the Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API, or Google Ads conversion tracking. If we do, these tools may set cookies or use similar technology. They may tell the platform that a browser or device visited this site or took an action here, such as starting the estimator, completing an estimate, submitting a request, or requesting an inspection. If we send conversion events from our server, we may include a click identifier and, only where the law allows, hashed (scrambled) contact details, so the platform can match the event to an ad. We won't send your estimate answers, storm or insurance answers, or notes. The platforms process this data under their own privacy policies.

Your choices. You can limit ad tracking in your browser and device settings, in Meta's ad preferences, in Google's My Ad Center, and through the Digital Advertising Alliance. [ATTORNEY: confirm whether pixel or Conversions API use counts as a "sale," "sharing," or "targeted advertising" under the state privacy laws that apply (for example, California, Colorado, and others). If it does, add a "Do Not Sell or Share / Opt out of targeted advertising" link, describe how we honor Global Privacy Control signals, set retention periods for campaign data, and confirm the hashed-contact-data language. Also confirm Meta's Business Tools Terms requirements for this notice.]

Retention and your choices

[ATTORNEY: set retention period.] To access, correct, or delete your information, or to stop all contact, email [email protected] [ATTORNEY/OPS: confirm this mailbox exists] or reply to your confirmation email.
